Bookings and conditions

To confirm your reservation a deposit of $200 per person is required. Reservations will be held for 7 days only without deposit. All airfares are subject to strict ticketing deadlines, to be advised at the time of booking. The balance of payment for your holiday is to be paid 42 days prior to departure. The operator reserves the right to accept waitlist clients in place of applicants failing to finalise within the prescribed time.




Prices

Prices are quoted in local currency, including GST and supersede all prices previously advertised. Please check the exact price of your tour at the time of paying balance. Airfares are based on the most direct route and are subject to class availability and any new Government taxes. Group concessions for 10 or more adults are available. Rail prices are subject to change. All prices are valid subject to Government, hotel, fuel surcharges and currency fluctuations.




Discounts and concessions

Guided tours: Children 6 to 15 years are entitled to the child price off the adult coach content price plus relevant air, rail or sea price (unless stipulated otherwise).

Day tours and Flexi trips: Children 2 to 15 years are entitled to the child price on ½ and 1 day sightseeing tours as well as Flexi trips that include overnight accommodation (tent/hotel) when sharing with at least one adult (unless stipulated otherwise). Infants up to and including 1 year old are free of charge. Please refer to individual tour information as some tours may have varied child age conditions.

Concession card holders: Prices apply to all Australian and New Zealand pensioners (refer to each itinerary price box for discount amount) however discount rail amounts are only available where Australian Centrelink Pensioner Card is produced. 'Seniors Card' holders are also eligible for the concession discounts on any tour price for a tour operated solely by AAT Kings.




Accommodation

Hotel and motel accommodation: Where this is forms any part of a tour, accommodation is provided on a twin share basis.

Triple rooms: in triple share rooms, the third bed may be a ‘foldaway’, ‘sofa bed’ or ‘rollaway’.




Solo travellers

Single rooms are available on request and a supplement payable at the time of booking. If you are travelling alone on a Premium or Cost Saver tour operated by AAT Kings and do not wish to pay the single supplement AAT Kings will ensure you share a room with a person of the same gender. If we fail to match you we will provide a single room at no extra cost. There is limited availability, please request at time of booking. Does not apply to Explorer tours in New Zealand, South Australia, the ‘Tasmania Naturally’ tour, King Island and Flinders Island tours or tours operated by Wilderness Challenge or Downunder Tours in Queensland.

Sole use of tents (on camping tours): can be guaranteed if requested at the time of booking. A surcharge is applicable, which also includes a single room on any hotel-accommodated nights. There is limited availability.

A change of tour date or tour itinerary within 42 days prior to departure will be treated as a cancellation and normal cancellation fees will apply except when the change is to an earlier tour departure of equivalent or greater value, in which case a A$55 per person amendment fee will be charged. Airfares: Tickets are issued on your airfares on receipt of full payment. Once ticketed, these airfares are non-refundable as per airline conditions. Any amendments to these flights may incur a fee. These airfares are not available outside Australia and New Zealand.




Illness or absenteeism

In the event of your withdrawal from a tour after commencement for reasons of illness, you must obtain a medical certificate in support of any insurance claim. We regret that no refunds can be made for absences from a tour, including but not limited to missed meals or sightseeing. AAT Kings make no representation or guarantees concerning reimbursements of funds paid by you under any insurance claim.




Internet airfares

Please note that AAT Kings does not incur any liability for airfares purchased by travel agents or clients online via the Internet. In the unlikely event that a tour is cancelled, AAT Kings cannot be held responsible for airfare conditions when the airfare is purchased via the internet with companies other than AAT Kings. All such risk, loss and expense must be borne by the travel agent or client.




Tour participation, exclusion and release

Guided touring:Children 5 years of age and under are ineligible. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Day tours: Infants and children are welcome. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Clients with disabilities are welcome on AAT Kings tours providing they are accompanied by an able-bodied companion and do not require special assistance from AAT Kings personnel. You must advise AAT Kings at the time of booking if you are affected by any condition, medical or otherwise, that may affect your enjoyment of the tour or its enjoyment by others. Failure to do so may result in the termination of your travel arrangements without any liability on the part of AAT Kings.

AAT Kings reserves the right at its discretion to exclude from a tour, or to terminate the travel arrangements during the course of the tour without refund, of anyone who:

  • Is unable to cope with the requirements of coach tour travel or who may need or require services of facilities which are not available
  • Fails to comply with the reasonable instructions of AAT Kings personnel
  • Engages in illegal or undesirable behaviour or who interferes wit the enjoyment of or jeopardises the safety of other tour participants.

Anyone so excluded will be required to disembark at a safe public location, transport from which will be wholly their responsibility.

You agree that AAT Kings is released from all liability for, and you agree not to hold AAT Kings responsible for termination of your travel arrangements in accordance with the previous condition, or any decision made by AAT Kings or by any service provider who refuses to provide you with special accommodations facilities o services that are not available or who refuses to carry you by reason of any disability or medical condition.

You agree that our AAT Kings Tour Directors or Representatives may take photographs and films of you while you are on holiday and that these may be used in our Group brochures and/or advertising or publicity material without obtaining any further consent or payment in respect of such photographs and/or films.




Tour inclusions

Transportation, entrance fees and boat cruise prices as per itinerary, services of a Tour Director and Tour Driver or Driver guide, meals as specified, accommodation on a twin share basis (unless specified otherwise). Occasionally it may be necessary to substitute inclusions other than those appearing on our website. Subject to a minimum number of clients, AAT Kings reserves the right to operate this touring on a smaller vehicle with a Driver guide. On some occasions, coach restrooms may be inaccessible depending on potations conditions.




Airline indemnity

Any airlines' involvement in AAT Kings tours is as air carrier only. This organisation shall carry no responsibility for statements in this brochure relating to ground content of the tours and the operator indemnifies them against any claim action, loss or damage arising as a result.

IMPORTANT: Scenic flights, boat cruises, helicopter flights, cable car rides, some 4WD tours, white water rafting, camel rides, hot air ballooning, rail, farmstay options etc.

These excursions are not operated by AAT Kings Tours, nor by persons or companies associated with AAT Kings Tours. These activities involve inherent risk of injury, death, accident, delay and loss, and client assumes all such risk with regard to any misadventure, death, injury, delay or loss which occurs during, or as a result of any such activity.




General conditions

The information on this website represents the entire agreement between the client and AAT Kings Tours Pty. Ltd., who is the tour operator. AAT Kings will be responsible to the client for supplying the services and accommodation as described in this brochure, except where such services cannot be supplied, or the itinerary used is changed due to delays or other causes of whatever kind or nature beyond the control of AAT Kings. In such circumstances, we will do our best to supply comparable services, accommodations and itineraries, and there shall be no refund in this situation. AAT Kings and its agents (collectively 'AAT') act only as agent for the client and upon the express condition that AAT Kings shall not be liable or responsible for any direct, indirect, consequential or incidental damage, injury, loss, accident, delay or irregularity of any kind, which may be occasioned by reason of any act or omission of any third party (including without limitation, any act, inaction or breach of contract of any third party, which is to or does supply any goods or services for this trip). Without limiting the foregoing, AAT Kings does not own or operate any third party suppliers of services such as hotels, restaurants, transportation companies, sightseeing companies or local tour operators. It is not responsible for any injury, death, loss or expense due to overbooking of accommodations, default of any third parties, sickness, weather, strikes, acts of God, Government, acts of terrorism, criminal activity, war, quarantine, force majeure events or any other cause beyond its control. All such risk, loss and expense must be borne by the client. Occasionally, it may be necessary to alter or amend itineraries, accommodation and sightseeing arrangements from those published. This may be due to road, weather and other operational needs prevailing at the time, and is always made in the best interests of your comfort. Any personal expenses incurred by a client as a result of any delay, alteration or curtailment of any tour, whether caused by mechanical defect, strikes or any other cause are the responsibility of the client (we strongly recommend all clients take out Travel Insurance, see your licensed travel agent). The operator is unable to guarantee exact arrival and departure times, and is not liable for any failure to make connections with any other service, or guarantee the operation of any particular service. In the case of breakdown and other unforeseen circumstances, the operator reserves the right to substitute vehicles other than specified, to ensure the operation of a tour. These coaches will be modern touring vehicles and may not have some of the features described. Please note that if you arrange for payment through an unaccredited agent, the unaccredited agent is not our agent for the purpose of receipt of monies. Receipt of deposits and subsequent payments by the travel agent does not constitute receipt of those monies by us, and the travel agent has no authority, expressed or implied, to receive monies on our behalf. There is no liability on our part, in respect of any monies paid to your travel agent. The company reserves the right to cancel any ticket or booking, or to refuse to carry any client where payment has not been received by the company within the specified time. The company reserves the right to amend or cancel tours at any time.




Important note

By paying the $200 deposit per person per holiday to your travel agent, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted the booking conditions, which make up the contract between you and AAT Kings.




Before you book

The information presented is correct at the time of publication. However, changes beyond our control may have occurred since then with respect to prices, itineraries, duration of holidays, standard of services and tour content. Surcharges may apply. Please check with your travel agent or our AAT Kings customer service team to ascertain if there are any alterations to the holiday you select before you book.




Consumer financial protection

AAT Kings is a current member of The Travel Compensation Fund (TCF). TCF is a regulatory body established by government to protect consumer funds in the event of a member travel company’s financial failure. AAT Kings' customers can have complete confidence that AAT Kings meets the strict financial criteria that must be adhered to in order to participate in the TCF and that their funds are protected.

Important notice: Unfortunately, it is inevitable that some of the prices or details contained within our website may change. You will be informed of any changes to any of the relevant details within our website when you book either with your travel agent or directly with AAT Kings. Every effort is made to ensure accuracy, however AAT Kings cannot be held responsible for printing or typographical errors, or errors arising from unforeseen circumstances.



General information


Validity

Please take note of the validity dates by tour for all prices quoted.




Travel insurance

Clients are strongly advised to take our travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances (eg. cancellation or curtailment expenses, loss of luggage etc). Your licensed travel agent or AAT Kings Customer Service team will be able to assist with your insurance requirements.




Special dietary requests

Please advise AAT Kings of any special dietary requirements at least 14 days before departure. Note that this will be on a request basis only, as AAT Kings cannot always guarantee the availability of special meal types.




Luggage allowance on AAT Kings Guided tours

One medium size suitcase per person (soft bag for Camping tours), the sum of its length/width and depth not to exceed 140cm (56”) plus one piece of hand luggage which may be carried onboard the coach: Please note that luggage with adjustable handle and wheels will not fit in the overhead compartments and cannot be accepted as hand luggage. Maximum weight of all luggage not to exceed 20kg (44lbs).

We are required by strict government vehicle weight regulations to enforce and adhere to this limit. If your luggage exceeds this limit, we ask that you make alternative arrangements for the excess it be forwarded to the termination point of your tour. Please note we suggest you have wheels on your suitcase, as there are certain places where assistance is not available (e.g. railway station and cruise terminal). All luggage and personal effects are at all times and in all circumstances at the risk of the tour participant. Luggage insurance is recommended.




Camping equipment & customer participation

Each vehicle has a fully equipped camper trailer containing roomy vinyl floored tents 2.3 metres (7ft approx) high for 2 persons, foam mattress, stools, camping equipment and eating utensils. We do not roster clients for camp duties, although to ensure the success of the tour, we strongly encourage client participation. Clients are required to erect their own tents - they are easy to assemble and our crew will show you how.




Kings Canyon safety information

During the hotter months temperatures can reach and exceed 36° C or 97° F. At these times the Watarrka National Park Rangers strongly advise that visitors do not take part in the Kings Canyon Rim Climb. In this drier desert climate heat exhaustion, over these hotter months, is a very high possibility and a danger in such remote regions. To ensure the safety and enjoyment of our clients we offer a guided walk along the Kings Canyon creek-bed as a suitable alternative on such days. The Kings Canyon Rim Climb is included in the following Explorer tours: AA43, AA45, AK20, AK40, AK43, AK48, AY62, AY64, YA06, YA62, YK43, YK48, YK49, YK51, NSAU, NSUA.
